A 5-Minute Grounding Ritual

To Settle Your Nervous System and Anchor you to Mother Earth

There is a moment before every ceremony I hold where I pause.

Not to prepare.
Not to get ready.
But to arrive.

No matter how many circles I’ve facilitated or how familiar the work is, I never enter from my head. I enter from my body.

This is the grounding ritual I use every time.
It takes five minutes.
No special tools.
No fixing.
Just presence.

And it works because it meets the nervous system where it actually is.

Why Grounding Matters More Than Calming Down

Many women tell me they struggle to slow down.

They say they know how to breathe, meditate, journal, or rest, but when they try, their body resists. Thoughts speed up. Emotions rise. Stillness feels unsafe.

That is not failure.

That is a nervous system doing its job.

When the body has been holding stress, grief, responsibility, or survival patterns for a long time, it does not respond to force. It responds to safety.

Grounding is not about calming yourself down.
It is about letting your body know it is supported.

The 5 -Minute Grounding Ritual

I practice this standing, seated, or lying down. Sometimes barefoot. Sometimes holding a warm cup of tea. There is no correct way.

Step 1: Place a hand on your body
Let your hand land wherever it naturally wants to go. Chest, belly, throat, or back of the neck.

Step 2: Feel what is holding you
Notice the surface beneath you. Feel it rise up to hold you.

Step 3: Allow your natural breath and ask the Earth
No deep breathing. No controlling. Just notice the breath already happening. Ask the earth if you can connect to her core. Feel or listen for a Yes.

Step 4: Visualize your root chakra opening and drop a chord

Bring your awareness to your womb space and your root chakra. Visualize your root chakra opening and a cylindrical tube about 2-3” round dropping from your womb, through your root chakra and down into the earth. Stay with this visual as you follow your chord through the earth, past the dirt, the rocks, the crystals, the water tables, all the way down until you see the earth’s core. I see it as a molten lava center but you decide what feels good for you. Now connect your chord to the Earth’s center and watch her send her light back up your chord into your body. Allow a color to arise in this light and let this color fill your body knowing that the color can change whenever you practice this and can become as creative as your imagination allows (maybe the energy color has pearlecense or is a metal. Maybe the energy is a mix of 2 colors and glitter. Or maybe the energy is simply green). Focus on the light filling all the spaces inside you.

Step 5: Stay for a few minutes
Sometimes emotion moves.
Sometimes nothing happens.

Both are welcome.

Step 6: Say Thank you

Give gratitude to Mother Earth for her sustenance and give gratitude to yourself and your body for carrying you through this lifetime.

How This Builds Self-Trust

Trust is not built through pushing or discipline.

It is built through small, consistent moments of listening.

Every time you stay with your body instead of overriding it, you send a signal of safety. Over time, the nervous system learns it does not have to stay on guard.

This is why grounding comes before breathwork, before ceremony, before any deeper healing work.

It creates the conditions for truth to surface without force.

When a Simple Ritual Isn’t Enough

For some women, this ritual opens the door.
For others, it reveals just how much the body has been carrying.

If you find yourself wanting support that goes beyond a single practice
If you are ready to explore what your body holds at its own pace
If you want a space where nothing needs to be fixed or rushed

This is the work I hold in my 1:1 sessions.

We move slowly.
We listen deeply.
We work with the nervous system, not against it.

These sessions are not about becoming someone new.
They are about learning how to live in your body with honesty and safety.

If your body feels a quiet yes, this is your invitation.

You do not have to do this alone.

If this practice feels supportive, keep using it. Let it become part of your rhythm.

And if you notice that when you slow down, there is more there than you expected
more emotion
more tension
more story
more truth

That is not something you have to navigate alone.

In my 1:1 sessions, we create a grounded space where your body sets the pace. We listen to what is rising. We work with the nervous system gently and honestly, without force and without performance.

This is not about fixing you.
It is about walking beside you as you build safety and self-trust from the inside out.

If your body feels a steady yes, I would be honoured to hold that space with you.
